A referee does more than blow the whistle.
They are key to creating a safe environment.
When refereeing, please be sure to:
1. every week, half the teams lose. Build up the team that lost. pump up the coaches.
2. provide validation, affirmation & confirmation
3. Thank the coaches. have the kids thank their parents. There is NEVER enough thank yous to go around.
4. have fun!!
5. make everyone feel special - make them feel like a superstar!
6. refer to players by their first name
