WE HAVE A ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY
FOR THE ABUSE, CRITICIZING, OR SHAMING
Of OUR YOUTH REFEREES, PLAYERS OR COACHES.
Any players, teams or family members who jeopardizes that environment may be asked to leave.
EVERYONE is empowered to instill these core foundations that will allow your children to understand and excel, not just in Flag Football, but in any sport (or career) they continue with long after their time in this league.
All players must be positively encouraged to understand that being on a team and playing football goes beyond their time on the turf.
If you watch a SNAPtivities game, you'll notice someting unique: our referees are local middle schoolers, high schoolers and players who have aged out of our leagues. THIS IS INTENTIONAL BY DESIGN.
These refs played on these exact same fields just a few years ago. For many, this is thier very first job. They are learning leadership, responsibility and what what it feels like to make a difference. They deserve a low-pressure environment while they learn.
Across the country, youth sports are facing massive referee shortages due to sideline behavior. We refuse to be part of that statistic. Our refs stay because we stand by them, engage with them, and coach them through intense situations.
Do they make mistakes? YES.
Are they sometimes out of position? YES.
Do they miss calls? YES.
EVERYONE makes mistakes - even the coaches and players. Practice patience. Help them grow.
Utilize this opportunity for a lesson in empathy.
Experiencing an "unfair" call is a beautiful real-world simulation. How will YOU handle it? How will you teach your CHILD to handle it?
If you witness any unsportmanlike conduct, please let us know!
